Praia Half Marathon 2018 - Cabo Verde

All visitors entering Cape Verde require a visa (cost: 40 euros) and a passport that is valid for at least another 6 months after the travel date. As a European or British citizen, you can obtain a visa at the respective embassy or consulate in your country in advance or upon arrival on Sal, Boa Vista, São Vicente and Santiago international airports (the latter is only valid for four weeks). The visa allows you to stay for 90 days. You must enter the country within 180 days after the visa has been issued. Application forms can be submitted via the Internet, fax or mail and are available on the website of the Embassy of Cape Verde.

The race.

The all registered participants are offered a kit of participation.
Half Marathon and 10km includes a t-shirt technique *. Participants enrolled in the walk are offered a t-shirt * Official Running

All participants in the Half Marathon and 10km will receive a medal of participation at the finish. Athletes ranked in these two races may request, after finishing the race, will get a medal and certificate online. Walking distance is not ranked.

RACE NUMBER PICK-UP
Race Expo will be held on 12 of January. Runners must collect their race packs prior to the race. Runners will receive their race numbers, timing chip and relevant race information. Further information will be provided closer to the race.

CONFIRMATION and ID’s REQUIRED at Packet Pickup. The Half Marathon Expo is free and open to the public. Runners who do not collect their race packs from Registration will not be refunded whatever the reason.
Runners will receive One race number. During a race this must be worn / pinned on the front of your running shirt.
If you are unable to collect your race pack a third party can collect on your behalf with a printed copy of the entry acknowledgement as well as a letter of authorisation from the entrant (including both individual's ID numbers).

The Race of Liberty has a maximum duration of three hours. The organization controls the pace walk. Registration is limited to five thousand participants and can be performed online.

Praia Half Marathon, 21.097 km. Race course measured officially and certified by the Cape Verdean Athletics Federation.

Event starts at 09.00am in the city center of Praia

The race of Liberty was created by the city of Praia and is traditionally held on January 13, 2018.

The start of the race is scheduled at 09:00 am in the square of Alexandre Albuquerque Square, in the Plateau,

A circuit which focuses on bringing the best scenery of the City performing excellence racing, with which intends to preserve and share the rich Cape Verdean heritage.

Water points:

Half Marathon:
- Water every 4Km and at the finish
- Isotonic drink: Midpoint and finish.

10Km and 4km walking:
- Water at the KM5 and finish

Medical:

Medical assistance will be available at the start, en route and at the finish. It is imperative that runners complete their correct medical information on their entry. Should you require hospital treatment, you will be charged according to the hospital tariff rate

Gear Check

There is a free gear location at the finishing area. You can leave a bag and take it back after the race, by presenting your bib number. Please don’t leave valuable or irreplaceable items in your bag, and avoid bringing items that may easily fall out of your bag. The Praia Half Marathon (Corrida da Liberdade) Organisation will be not responsible for lost or missing bags.
